You may notice that something looks a little different around here. The familiar page where you get all of the information about your child's school has changed. What was previously the Office of Catholic Schools is now called The Office of Education, Evangelization and Catechesis (OEEC).
What has changed?
Don’t worry; our mission and ministry are still the same. In fact, the reason for the transition is that we have been seriously reflecting on our mission to provide education to our community on every level, and we’ve realized that in order to convey that message, we can no longer separate our K-12 education from our religious education programs and services. Consequently, we will be deactivating the Archdiocese of Hartford Catholic Schools and Office of Religious Education web pages and creating one single, all-encompassing OEEC page.
What does this mean for my family?
It means that your young learner will continue to get the exceptional education you expect from the schools in the Archdiocese of Hartford. It also means that your individual school will continue to maintain its own website and social media pages. The only differences you’ll notice are the new look and name for the Office of Catholic Schools and the Office of Religious Education websites and social pages, as well as a new logo and tagline.
What if I have questions about the changes?
Just like with every other aspect of your life, we are here for any of your questions or concerns. Feel free to reach out to us via phone, email, or social media.
Change is good and as educators, we are constantly evaluating whether we are using best practices and conveying the correct messages to our community. We strongly believe that as the Office of Education, Evangelization and Catechesis, our new name faithfully represents our mission is to inspire and educate people of all ages to live a better life through Catholic teachings, and thereby become virtuous citizens of the community. We will keep you posted on our website progress.
