To establish a complete pre-employment file for a position as an Administrator in the Archdiocese of Hartford, please complete the online application and submit the necessary documents.

To establish a complete pre-employment file for a position as an Educator in the Archdiocese of Hartford, please complete the online application and submit the necessary documents.

Before you begin, please carefully review the following information regarding the online application process for our schools. The application consists of multiple steps and will take you at least 30 ‒ 60 minutes to complete.

In addition to the application, the following information is required to complete the application process:
  • evidence of state certification (if applicable)
  • letter of recommendation from your pastor/parish priest (download Administrator form here) (download Educator form here)
  • college transcript(s)
  • an up-to-date resume

Your application will be considered “in process” until all required documents are received. If your qualifications meet our requirements, we will contact you for further information and a possible interview. If offered a position in one of our schools, you will be required to:

  • undergo a fingerprint background check;
  • participate in the Archdiocesan Safe Environment Training Program.

Depending on whether you are applying for an Administrator or an Educator position, there are specific qualifications and steps required. See below for additional instructions.

To Apply for a Position as an Administrator in the Archdiocese of Hartford:

Applicants must have at least a master's degree and five years of successful teaching experience.

The application includes one writing prompt. You are asked to compose a reflective response to the prompt and either attach it or email it separately. The application will not be considered complete until receipt of this prompt is received. The prompt is as follows:

  • Discuss your philosophy of Catholic education, and the importance of a Catholic school education;
  • Specifically apply the implications of your philosophy statement to the educational leadership position for which you are applying; how do you integrate your faith into the ministry of Catholic education; how might this further advance the Archdiocesan Purpose and Vision for Catholic School Education.
  • Expound on strengths and specific leadership style you bring to this position.

Upon administrator approval, your application will be disseminated to search committees assigned to interview and select new administrators.

Your application will be retained in active status for a period of two years.

To Apply for a Position as an Educator in the Archdiocese of Hartford:

Applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree with a major in the grade level or subject area for which they are applying, state certification is preferred.

The application includes two writing prompts. It is recommended that you reflect on and compose responses to the prompts (consisting of no more than 500 words each) ahead of time in a separate Word document then copy and paste it into the application. The application cannot be submitted without these responses. The prompts are as follows:

  • Please write a statement indicating your understanding of the purpose of a Catholic school, and how your personal qualifications for employment in a Catholic school will help advance the Archdiocesan Purpose and Vision for Catholic School Education.
  • Please write a statement describing your familiarity with technology and its uses in education. Include your understanding of 21st century fluencies and their impact on student preparation for college and career readiness.

Upon teacher approval, your application will be made available to the network of schools in the Archdiocese of Hartford. If hired, you will be required to attend the next orientation for new teachers.
