Faith Formation

Attention Confirmation Coordinators:

The NFCYM (National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry) just hosted a fantastic webinar on Youth Confirmation: Confirmation Ministry with Youth in 2020 and Beyond with Tom East of Center for Ministry Development. This webinar explored the models and methods that are helpful in successfully coordinating a Confirmation preparation and follow-through process within a parish setting. Tom looked at the direction for ministry with young people provided by Pope Francis in Christus Vivit, and examined strategies for engaging and involving families and sponsors with the young people.

As a follow up to this webinar, there will be a Virtual Meeting for Confirmation Coordinators of the Archdiocese of Hartford to further explore Tom East’s message. This will take place tomorrow, Thursday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. Click this link to join this gathering. You can also dial in using your phone: (872) 240-3212, please use access code: 240-385-685.

Upcoming Webinar for Ministers of Youth and Young Adults:

Join Scott Boyle, Associate Director of Recruitment and Formation for the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame, as he presents: Animating the Faith of Youth and Young Adults: Attending to Our Present; Building Our Future on December 8, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

The current challenges faced by the Church have forced us to confront our traditional methods of outreach and evangelization to youth and young adults. COVID-19 has also forced us to dream up new approaches that have the potential to sustain us long after the pandemic has subsided. For the past few months, Scott Boyle, Associate Director of Recruitment and Formation for the McGrath Institute for Church Life at the University of Notre Dame, facilitated conversations with youth and young adult ministry leaders from across the country who have shared their experiences and ideas for accompanying and animating these two groups. In this session, he will share insights and reasons to hope from these conversations and propose practical ideas to catalyze and reinvigorate youth and young adults in the parish and beyond! Click here to register.
